Jeramie do you have a clip with the install done?
Not yet will make one I can tell you. It’s louder and hits hard. But don’t know if you’ll be able to tell that on a video. what I’m gonna do is download an app on my wife’s phone that will measure the sound , because I tried using mine and it wouldn’t let me do both play the music and measure the sound. I can tell you it’ll be Friday evening before this gets done. That’s when I’m off next, I did do my fade after the install one fade goes to the four speakers the other side of the fade goes to the sub.

I just picked up my 2021 general xp1000 and the stereo is absolute crap !!! Won’t fade and sounds like a first grader designed it. It’s going to dealer in the am.
found this thread tonight. Wish I would’ve before I ordered it.

Good evening I am the new owner of a 2020 XP1000 with Ride Command and I think there is a issue with my stereo. While listening to the radio I realized there was hardly any bass coming from the subwoofer. So I played around with the settings In the head unit. When I use the fader and put it to the rear there is only bass. When I put it to the front there is no bass at all. Is this the way this system was designed or is there a issue with my machine. Sounds kinda crappy to run the sub off the rear channels?
If someone else with the stage 4 audio can see if theirs is doing the same please let me know.

Thank you,

Mike

Mike. I have the same problem…left and right work but from to rear is backwards and barley any noise from front speakers. Hope you find the problem as it’s very annoying… mine now has a rumbling noise when stereo is low and engine is on.

The front to rear fade is connected as follows:
• Front = All 4 speakers
• Rear = Sub woofer

The rumble you are hearing may be the sub.

If you have not done so already, update to the latest RC software.

hey everyone, so I am a girl and will be honest. I do not understand all the talk. But, I hate my radio as I have a 2021 General with the same radio issues on the fading. My husband has just let it go for now and not worried about it, but it drives me crazy! I take friends for a ride and have to turn the radio down so they don't get blasted with the music. Then, I cant hear the front. It sucks. So in a nutshell, what are the options to correct this? Sounds like there are a few. What has worked best for everyone? I saw the post about not getting it wet. I do not want that one! We play to much to worry about that.
Then I can go to him and tell him options to fix it:)

Thanks and only nice comments please.

These are free.

I find that making adjustments to the EQ, can achieve a balance between loud enough to hear and calming the tones that dig into ones eardrum.

I also fade a bit more to the rear (sub) when engine is off or listening at lower volume vs center fade for loud/diving situations.

Also, make sure you are running the latest software version.

Could somebody with the stage 4 audio please let me know if you radio does the same as mine. When you change the fader settings from front to rear does it kill all the speakers and just send the signal to the sub and when you put the fader to the frontit kills the sub and plays on all 4 speakers..

Thanks in advance.
Mike
I have a 2021 general xp 4 with ride command and stage 4 Rockford fosgate system. This is so unacceptable for Polaris to treat customers paying $30k for an xp upgrades and fader not work. Can we all file a lawsuit against polaris to resolve the issues? Anyone know a good attorney to represent all of us customers? Polaris needs to recall all units. 2 channel amp is not compatible with a 5 speaker system..please help !!!!

Username checks out.

Problem is, what are your legal damages? What are you going sue under, breach of contract? Not gonna happen.

We all ordered and paid good money for a supposedly top of the line system. Has anyone contacted the better business bureau? Polaris must make this right with us customers. Class action lawsuit? I just want all of us to get what we paid for. You cant use a 2 channel amp with 5 speakers and expect it to sound right. We all have been wrongfully ripped off and polaris must make it right. Ask any judge or lawyer...

We have all been misrepresented paying for a top of the line stereo system that doesn't work properly. Not asking for anything except an adequate amp for a 5 speaker system
Recovering attorney here. In the pantheon of potential class action suits against polaris, this is bottom barrel.
What about the XP guys smoking clutch covers and spending 1k aftermarket to fix it? What about weak driveline units from pre 19? What about the bed support rails bending after minimal weight even though it's rated to 600 lbs? The list goes on and on. Energy better spent fixing it yourself or turning up the RPMs

The amp is actually a 4 channel amp but I agree, this setup should be done with a 5 channel amp.

I have made adjustments to my system so it performs to my satisfaction, just like I would with another system.

Everyone will have a different perception of the sound quality though.

One thing Polaris could do, is change the wording for the fade in the next update to read "Sub - Speakers" instead of "Rear - Front". This would not change or fix the issue but would avoid allot of confusion.

Blackwhiskey, I'm not sure if the follow-up responses were helpful to you or not. To understand the basic mistake that Polaris made, you should be able to pan the volume between the two front stereo speakers and the two rear stereo speakers. In other words, you could have all the stereo sound coming out of the front two speakers and nothing coming out of the rear two speakers, or vice-versa. That way, if the music is too loud for the rear passengers, you just pan it towards the front, achieving a nice balance. Polaris didn't provide the correct amp and wiring to actually fade between the front and rear stereo speakers. Instead, the fader pans between all four stereo speakers getting music (panned to the front) vs. all music signal going to the subwoofer under the dash (panned to the rear). This wiring and amp configuration is ludicrous and is completely useless. That is why when you fade to the rear, the sound gets very quiet. You essentially turn off all four stereo speakers and only send very low bass signals to the subwoofer. Likewise, if you fade to the front, you power all four stereo speakers and essentially turn off the subwoofer. Your only option to enjoy sound from all 5 speakers equally is to leave the fader in the middle position. You can control the overall volume of music, but have zero control of increasing or decreasing the volume selectively for rear passengers.

Polaris should correct this. They have not provided a functional vehicle stereo system that has been basic practice in cars for multiple decades. I first discovered this with my 2020 General XP 4 1000 Deluxe. It's unbelievable that they haven't even changed this in the 2021 models. Polaris engineers obviously don't read these forums. People have reported this mistake to their dealers. Either the dealers don't pass it on or Polaris just doesn't even listen to dealer complaints.
