Thanks for the replies, I thought that when it was mentioned an axle popped out that it was referring to the inner CV coming out of the transaxle not the CV itself pulling apart. Also I agree the circlip does hold inner CV from pulling out to an extent, I would think the distance between transaxle and hub assembly would keep it in place barring some anomaly like bent/broken parts.
You, when an axle pops out it commonly means the inner cv joint comes out of the transmission.
Yes the circlip is what holds the inner cv in and sometimes they come out without any other broken or bent parts. Like someone else pointed out above it usually happens on lifted or modified vehicles but not always.

Mine is completely stock. No suspension mods at all.
When I get the jack I ordered, should be a few days, I will get in there. I'm thinking a bit of disassembly is required for me to get my phone in there to take pics as it sits now.
Its a nice balmy 8 degrees so, I'm battling that too.
I'll figure out how to get the pics uploaded and post them on the other thread I started about this as soon as I can.
Thanks guys, to all of you for weighing in on this. I'll need all the help I can get.
