Talked to my dealer today and explaind what I read on here. They called me back at the end of the day and said they got the approval for new front and rear shaft. I asked if it was the new cv joint and they said they had not run the part numbers they gave them yet but will look them up tomorrow.

Got it back and rode it a couple miles with no noise. I'm going to ride trails this weekend so I will keep my fingers crossed.

I emailed Polaris about the noise, next day I got a call from them about my email. He did admit they were replacing the propshafts on affected units,on the dealers recommendation for replacement. So i have to take mine in for assessment.

Still under warranty, never got a case#,I never asked for one.

I'm going to call my dealer tomorrow on another matter,so i'll ask them about the propshaft fix.I would just take it there and drop it off but it's a day trip for me to get there and back.

Just got the General back and put roughly 15 miles on it. THE NOISE IS GONE!!!!! So far so good. I am going to ride some more tomorrow and than call the dealer and let them know. Sure love driving this beast. Will love it even more now that the growl is gone!!! As I said before, make sure you thank your tech's and work with them cause they want you happy and so they should.

Ditto-had new so-called phased prop shafts installed in June and I think it was worse. Went back end of August after the ‘18’s were released. After a little “encouragement”, they agreed to look into it. A week later the service manager called and said Polaris agreed to it, but there would be a $50 “deductible”. I said ok.

Put on about 80 miles yesterday and noise and vibrations are completely gone.
I’m pretty sure the $50 was the dealers idea, but I’ve blown worse money:)
All is good, and hope more for everyone too.

Just dropped mine off at dealer to get the 18 updates done under warranty. Said they will know for sure early next week.

Not sure what my number was. What would you need the case number for. They are unique to individual claims.
Because as I’ve stated before these idiots at Polaris want it to prove my case. The video taken by the stealership wasn’t enough. The stealership lies weren’t enough either. They told Polaris they replaced all kinds of things but didn’t and got busted for it yet nothing was done about it. Polaris told me just go to a different dealer. Is that how they handle things? Yes.

What did they change the last time to eliminate the noise if the prop shafts didn't fix it the first time?

Guys
Having a good dealer ,,is at least 70 % of it or more,But,Polaris Customer Service is really bad,and getting worse daily.

I have not had a lot of problems over the years with Polaris. Directly, but what dealings i have had were very trying ,and I finally just fixed the problems myself ,

Some of the guys I have talked with ( private messages etc. ) say the carrier bearing needs replaced with new prop shaft install,My dealer has the shafts on order but it has been over a month,, trying to wait to see if I can. Get steering. And shafts all in one trip.

Low expections .My Dealer is something else ,not reliable.

Hey Slow Motion, your post saying your dealer has had the prop shafts on order for over a month now prompted me to call my dealer to check if they can confirm parts availability. I dropped my G off last week and they ordered the parts last Wednesday. He said there was no issue when he ordered the parts and he checked Polaris stock today while I was on the phone and he said they have plenty in stock. Mine's a G2, can't speak for the G4 but you may want to call your dealer back and question them a little more.
