Yes, there is a link to a programmer above BUT it might not be what some people need. Personally, I am looking for something that will ONLY take away the limiter. The programmer above seems to add way more tweaks than that and require you to have at least and exhaust installed. Is there anything or anyone that will just remove the limiter?

This can be done by an ecu flash but they are kind of expensive. you could call one of the ecu tuning places and ask them if they can just remove the speed limiter and raise the rev limiter and not mess with timing or anything else they may do this I'm not sure. I have a tuned ecu from hct it does this but a few other things also. You must run at least 91 octane with this tune.

I have the BMP Bully Dog programmer and when I originally bought it, I ordered the Level One tune which is for a stock machine. Had no issues and it made it a lot more responsive as well as removing speed limiter and lowering the fan temp activation. On top of that, you can use the unit for additional gauges if you'd like. If you modify the machine later and add accessories like exhaust, cam, etc., you can just order a tune that is sent to you via email. You install it in the programmer and hit "Program". I like mine. :D

That's some funny **** Bags, still catches me at times, forget to put the belt on ,,,,lol

This is correct. We do have a simple Level 1 tune that is designed for stock applications. Polaris sends the General from the factory with enough limits in them to avoid mishaps if you run very poor quality fuel. If you can commit to running at least 91 octane (which you should anyways) we can optimize the timing and fuel curve to compensate for this. That translates to about 5-6 HP at the wheels. Also, if you keep the Bully Dog tuner on the General and you run into a situation where you cannot get 91 octane all you have to do is simple tune the ECU back to stock until you can find better fuel. We also raise the rev limit to 9,000RPM and the speed limiter is raised to 96MPH

Let me know if you have any more questions.

96 mph holy buckets man, we hit 60 and thought we were going airborne!

Raising the speed limiter to 96 doesn't necessarily mean that 96 is actually achievable.

I had an ecu that eliminated the speed limiter and tuned for 91 octane fuel. I had it going 85mph one time but you would have to be on flat ground or slightly down hill to go any faster than that. I cruise mine down the road all the time around 60-65 mph once you do it a few times it’s about like driving a car down the highway. I have a full cab enclosure though so the wind isn’t blowing in my face either. The wind probably makes it feel worse than it actually is.

Dang. Will these things really do 96mph with nothing but a tuner?
No, The fastest I had mine just barely hit 80 on stock engine with exhaust and level one tune and the STM clutches installed. This is with full windshield and heavy tires, going mostly WITH the wind though... THe rpms were not tach'd out though so with more power she'd go faster. Mine handles pretty well at speed with the tires I have on albeit they flex with the low pressure I run so taking radical curves are a bit sketchy. Maybe the big bore/big valve kit will fix the speed issue....>:) lol:grin2:

I cruse a lot at 65/70 for long stretches and the General never misses a lick and really doesn't feel like your going that fast. Really never give it a second thought but in reality cant see any need to go faster in one of these things! >:)

I can’t see any need either but it was sure fun to try once!!

Agreed Pirate. When i was a youngster back in the day nothing could go fast enough. Now that i am an old geezer and have a 90 year old body, i am much more cautious! Enjoy life while you can as you get old much too soon!
