I could be wrong but I think there is a limiter in the primary clutch.

 

The only way mines hitting 72 mph is on the trailer behind my truck!

I hit 120 on the logging road last weekend. Have to say it was quite stable at that speed.

In most of the trails where I ride, if you're doing 80-85, it's hold the F**K on!!

Mine stops at 70 mph and I still have quite a little throttle left but it doesn't go any faster than that.

 

Mine topped out at 15... then I put my seat belt on lol

They actually handle quite well at 72mph. Could easily use another 10mph...

 

There's no way anyone is surviving a crash at 72 in a General.

 

Better not crash then:grin2: There is one area that Cam Am has every one else beat there commanders have a actual ROPS. role over protective structure. the only SxS built in 2013 when I bought mine that had that classification:frown2: They should all be. I don't know about now

 

Too bad every stock cage looks like absolute crap aesthetically. The next thing after the wheels/tires/a-arms coming off mine is the cage. Building a real cage and a matching bed cage

I've hit 72 on mine a couple times. I didn't realize there was a limiter when I first did it. It felt as though it had some more left in the pedal but I had to let out. I was on the road. It starts getting a little light in the steering on pavement at 72. Probably different on dirt. The tires just aren't made for 72 on pavement. But oh well. I did it anyways. 82 would be good for me also. Just not on the road.

 

The tires on the base model, which I have, are only rated to 50 mph. I've had it over that a few times.

 

Man that is an oversite on someone at polaris. If they put a 50MPH tire on a machine that will go 72 they better hope no one has a blowout. Do the red units still go 72?

 

I would imagine yes they would. The engine/drivetrains are the same on all 3 models

I've had my red one a little over 60, haven't had enough room to max it out.

 

Hmfracing advertising a ecu and double exhaust all together for everything your looking at 2000 bones and your general should go over a 100 don't kill your self look lol

 

I just sent my ecu too benchmark performance to get it reflashed. They have never done a general before so they are gonna go through mine and figure them out and remove the speed limiter and raise the rev limiter hopefully. They told me since it's the first one they have done they will do it for free. I will post the results when I get it back.

 

I email Chris at benchmark performance and he told me my ecu shipped out today. They said they raised the rev limiter to 9200 rpm and the speed limiter to 90. Normally they mess with the timing also but they didn't have a machine to test it on so they left that alone. I want to say thanks to Chris and everyone at benchmark and I will let you all know how it works.

 

Rocklong does that mess with the warranty?

 

They haven't had any trouble yet but u could get two ecu if u want. One stock and one flashed.

 

Could someone put there general in neutral and hold the throttle to the floor for a few seconds and tell me where the RPMS settle and stay. Thanks

 

66-68 on a radar gun is how fast they really go....on flat level asphalt with no wind involved that is what they do.
.thats plenty enough for the vehicles proposed use.
