The power steering light goes on and you lose steering if you are idle, so engine off but key in acc. mode for more than 5 mins. It is not an issue at all, just turn key completely off and then turn back on. The warning light will go away and you will have power steering again. Hope that helps!

 

This was mentioned in my owners/operators manual also.

 

I've had an a blown power steering fuse twice now. Not 100% sure what causes it. Replaced fuse and then works again.

 

Its been my experience, it was a loose nut behind the wheel. (couldn't resist)

Sounds like NateSS415 has steered you in the right direction ..

 

I have had my power steering go out 2 times as well...It was when I was on an incline/decline (Can't remember) and put it in reverse...Both times the check engine came on...The fuse was blown...Replaced the fuse, the light was off and power steering was back...That was about 8-12 months ago and hasn't happened since. Not sure what it was.

So if you shut the machine off then turn the key to ACC after a few minutes the head lights and dash power goes out. The power steering goes out as well. If you then try to start it without turning the key all the way off, those functions remain off. Well, at least the power steering does. If you turn the key all the way off and then start it, all is good. For those who have had fuse problems, sorry but you must have another issue.

 

I have lost my power steering twice first time was last fall, one time the fuse had to be replaced the other i was able to reset with the ignition switch. the first time we were taking a break and i had the key turned to accy and was listening to radio and was able to reset with ignition the 2nd time i was letting the machine idle with the radio playing and lights on, and that when the fuse blew.
