XP 64" width? Yea right

So I brought my '23 xp4 with ZERO suspension mods out last night for a ride. I get to the gate an hour away. Here I see a sign that says "65 inch Maximum Width". Pfft no problem I have a 64" machine I thought. Nope not even close to making it through the choke point. Of course I didn't have a tape measure with me.

I get back home; measure the width and I'm reading 66" all day long.

So I'm confused, did Polaris measure the width with zero weight on the suspension, like literally hung the machine in the air and measured?

Has anyone else out there measured their machine? Curious what other people are reading for width.

Does this mean you are going to have to jump it through the gate, so your suspension will be at full drop? ;)

And with no miles then I will call Geico and go buy a Can-Am.

I really do like the general I just keep finding these really disappointing things that aren't all that bad by themselves but add up when there are just so many.

You will find things you like and things you don't like on most any production machine available.

For sure
If you don't like being hot while riding, i'd stay with the General. I know a couple people with the new Commanders (which I really like the look of) and one of them used own a General and they claim the heat in the front of the Commander is bad. I've done a ton of riding in a Ranger Crew, a Rzr 4 seater and now my General Xp 4 and the General by far has been the most comfortable to ride in in terms of engine heat making the ride uncomfortable.

The old Commanders were horrible, but the news ones have the engine in the rear so it shouldn't be an issue.
POLARIS: "Stance is measured at full suspension droop. That is not something we can do, we are sorry for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused. Please contact your dealer."
And that's fine if that's how they measure it, but there needs to a footnote in the specs saying so. Pretty sure they make the 50" RZR Trail fit through a 50"gate.

So I am wondering where my new 64" RZR is going be. Will it be 68" when I put my 4:3 Beadlocks on it?

My 64" RZR is 67" with 6+1 Tusk beadlocks and 10" wide tires on it.
With 4+3 wheels yours will probably be 69".

64” in the specs is the measurement from the axle castle nut to the other one on the opposite side. Add 1 1/2 ‘ on each side for the stock tires. Roughly 67” actual width

Which Tusks? I have the Wasatch's.

I can live with 69" :) Wife is not going to be happy with those tires out there where they can splash her, but it will be the desert so less water/mud than we are used to.

Teton. I think they were the only 14" 6+1 Tusk beadlock for a Polaris at the time I bought them.

Wrong the 64" width is measured for the outside of the OE TIRE with the suspension at full droop, per POLARIS...
