2022 General XP 4 Deluxe RC
I made the down payment for my 2022 General XP4 Deluxe RC in Ghost White on 5/20.
On July 23, I had a shipping date range of 8/20-9/17.
On July 30, a day after the 2022 Polaris Lineup announcement, that range was MOVED UP--You read that right, UP!--to 8/6-9/3. Woo Hoo! Start buying all the new camping gear, tools, tie downs and trailer gear, some specialty products to make the ride mine, etc., etc.
And buy it right quick.
Today, August 13, my dealer hands me a printout with my order number, and yet another new shipping date range. This time, it's been MOVED BACK 2 months and the range widened almost 2 weeks to 10/7-11/18.
I know many have waited 5 months or more. So this really puts my new ride at about the average amount of time it's taking to get 'em these days. Both my dealer and I were surprised when Polaris moved the date up...
And I don't blame my dealer for this at all of course, they have no control over production.
But the fact that Polaris teased me like that...moving the date UP...now that'll chafe your hide right there. Right. There.
Well, if there's one thing I've learned, it's that there's no use in coppin' a chafe over those things I have no control over. I've got enough chaffage already.
I called. I've had a lot worse waits, to be fair, and it is 4:30 p.m. Minnesota time, on a Friday, in the middle of the summer. Finally, the customer service rep checked with the "specialist"--of course I don't blame any of those folks either--but all they could do was confirm the new ship date range. "Might've been a part didn't come in that they thought would...and then again, that part could come in and we ship it right away."
Honest answer. Fair enough.
Such is the world these days, eh?
Who'd'a thunk it? Who'd'a thunk it would be this hard to spend tens of thousands of U.S. dollars. I could understand if it were drachma's or something. But U.S. dollars? "C'mon man!"
But what are you gonna do? Get all twisted up about it? What purpose does that serve?
Let. It. Go. LIG it, man. LIG it.
As my dear mother would say, "This too shall pass..."
Now, where's my cocktail...
