Well that is curious, that would make sense that it doesn't dump but it seems like it must come off some how so you can service the engine.
Folks need to read a bit.

The ADV version has the bed cover. The XP is a tilt bed like the General. Some ask what the difference is, nobody said that the General was coming back for 2024.

Some say it's too expensive at $45K, then they look at the lineup and realize they grabbed the most loaded up Xpedition 5 Northstar. They start under $30 like current Generals. $28,999 to be exact

First year will never appease to the budget crowd. They will always push the loaded models to the early adopters with extra income. Nobody leads with the budget model.

There may be some General owners that want it, but I think Polaris may be aiming more toward Jeep drivers that want to go on Class II ATV trails.
For us in MN, many of these won't qualify since they are over 2000lbs. (the fully loaded ones)

I love the guys crying about it not having smart shocks and trailing arms or more than 64" width. This is why the RZR was made, and why they revamped the line up with the RZR XP. Polaris truly made the RZR XP as a very likely gateway drug into the full blown RZR's. Think about it, the new XP has upright seating, same engine, more 4 person passenger room. And if I had to guess, the accessory list may include hard doors and sealed cab in the very near future.

Those asking for RZR like components may find themselves not in General, Xpedition land or even ProR land, but in RZR XP land. and be very happy. What do they lose? Utility? Come on, that's where a buyer has to be real honest with what they want out of their SXS. There will never be a true swiss army knife. Polaris still offers the most models in the most categories. If you can't find the one that fits your "real needs" and not what you want to pretend to be, then good luck. (and no, I am not from Polaris or want to preach about it)

Has to be. The moderator of the General FB group is warning he will delete any Expedition posts.
What a d-bag he was about that post too. Folks are going to have constructive discussions about this new machine here and there. The funny part is that I am part of like 4 General groups on FB. And what gets me that some call them General 1000 to be different. Which is funny, as there was never a general that was not a 1000. Heck it's like the folks that list a used General and say it's a 1000 with eps, yup, they all are. Too funny.

I remember a couple of years ago a poster on RZRforums got all pissy about a post about a General. Went off saying it was a RZR forum and get all these other machines off of there.

He had no idea they had a dedicated General subforum.
Head D-bag Eric Hodge just booted me from that forum on Facebook. That idiot has no sense of sarcasm. I wasn't even the one busting his balls about RZR conversations or posting xpedition info. Heck, he probably is one of the yahoos that doesn't understand how to spell xpedition, or realize it's a revival of an old polaris atv name plate.

Simple fact, rzr does not have a Northstar edition. General doesn't ride anything close to as good as a rzr does. New Expedition says "long travel" but it's a joke..... compared to a rzr with trailing arms. Ever drive a 60" General? Pretty **** tippy. 70-72" would have helped with that a lot. Not worth upgrading for 4".
you are 100% correct. "long travel" is a relative term. And you said it yourself, there is no Northstar Rzr. So in comparison to the only Northstar, the Ranger, this new machine is long travel. They are not trying to sway you away from the specs of the rzr, they won't compete with their own products. But they will provide current and future Northstar owners into a better machine (in comparison) It's not suppored to be compared to a 72" machine either.
