Ok I’m trying to remove my secondary so I can replace My crank shaft seal but it will not budge afte taking the bolt out we have done everything like hitting it with a hammer at the bolt and using a slide hammer attached to it and everything.what would cause this and is there a trick or something I’m missing lol

take your time digging old one out
don't scratch case
don't push new seal in to far 2.5 mm recess ?
clean oil bypass out good with thin wire
i used yamabond extra thin around seal
pre lube inside seal
i like to wipe case with rubbing alcohol and dry good
let sit overnite
put saftey cover over it
buy a extra seal ive seen them leak later on
crankcase pressure blocked and overfiiled oil will blow them out
shop in texas, 100.oo with cover ?

Crank Shaft seal? That's behind the primary clutch and you need a puller for that sir. Trasmission seal is behind the secondary!
He has to get both clutches off to get the black plastic clutch cover off, so he can get at the seal.

Finally got it off it was rusted pretty good lol used a chain to get it off and a puller lol
Glad you got it off sir, I hope the rest goes smooth for you!! Shees! Mine slid right off (but it's new) I've never seen one rusted to the shaft on sleds either!!

'22 Xp4 with only 800 miles on it lost its crankshaft seal. It had just had its first service at the dealership 2 weeks prior.....frustrated and concerned!

A few have had their seals go bad, no rhime or reason, it sometimes happens.

So now...take some new Scotchbrite and clean up the Transmission input shaft and the inside of the Secondary clutch where it goes over the Trans shaft.
On reassembly, but a nice coat of nickel based anti-seize on the shaft and put the clutch on.
This will go a long ways to preventing corrosion and keeping debris out of the joint. Do this and next time it will slide off easily.
