This is a forum focused on the Polaris General 1000 models. Many here can probably help you out anyway.
I would check the solenoid on the frame behind the driver's seat/fuse box area. Guy at work has a 900. He had a similar issue, but his died completely. Polaris lands a bundle of small wires into a large ring terminal and gets power off the solenoid. That connection corrodes and eventually fails. I would check there first, then move to the fuse box. The bottom of the fuse box is open and gets a lot of mud and crap in there and could cause corrosion there too. Good luck!
If you have a winch check your main power wire from battery to solenoid to winch.. seen one rub through on an 800 causing a dead short to the frame. Machine would die right out everything would shut off like you turned the key off then pop back on
