I have owned a 2018 General 4 while a very nice ride but, my 2020 General 4 XP with the Walker Evans Shocks and 30 inch tires rides so much better. Even more so after installing Shock Therapy Springs.
Ride quality XP vs General
Searching I see several people say that the XP General rides better than the General. Why would that be? Doesn't the XP only have 1" more travel? Does the extra width make the difference? Or the bigger tires?

XP comes with Walker Evans velocity shocks. Way better than the Fox QS3 IMO. The extra width helps. I would imagine the stiffer one piece chassis may contribute to a better ride also. 30" tires give more sidewall with more squish. I think it's a combination of tire size, wider stance, A-arm geometry, and most importantly shocks.
