Poor audio with 2020 ride command and Rockford Fosgate stage 4 premium audio

I have been issued a case number also. Same issue..lousy sound and no fade control. The fade won't ever work with the factory amp. But if you haven't updated your software go into your setting and change the region from North America to Europe and you will see how it should sound. I did the update and lost this little work around. Polaris customer service told me that the July update "fixed un intended audio levels". So yes they did this on purpose. It is the software in ride command not the Fosgate system. Totally deceptive practice and misleading advertising!!! I hope others are as furious as I am about this. Total BS!!!

Mine works perfect since the last 2 updates from Polaris. Not sure how a firmware update could fix all the issues but I'm more than happy with the Stage 4. Still not a 5 speaker car system but it performs fine for trails. I wouldn't purchase this system if it didn't come with my general for the price. As for the amp there are plenty "Marine" amps and receivers out there that cost alot less.
The firmware upgrade changes the amount of power run through the system. Polaris controls the "tune". They basically de tune the system to keep people from blowing the speakers or the subwoofer and submitting warranty claims. I was told this by Polaris dealer and also by customer service when I filed a claim about the piss poor sound on our 2020 XP4. The last 2 updates are better, but not what the system is capable of. But again not everyone expects the same thing out of a sound system. I do like the Ride Command system otherwise. Buy the Ride Command for the maps, gps and gauges....not the stereo or you will probably be disappointed.

While this is a much older thread, I can't even quantify how much reading I've done on this topic. 2021 General XP4 RF stage 4 with ride command. Stock sub removed for heater kit, purchased MTX GENERAL 10 and MTX MUDPRC. My machine being a 2021 doesn't have the 3 output plugs. The diagrams provided on this thread finally let me figure it out...

Preface - be very cautious with the pin #'s on the diagrams, they are as your looking at the head unit or the amp, not the plug itself. Wires on the plug are exactly opposite left to right.

As you look at the 23 pin amplifier plug, 1-4 are feeding your speakers, 6-7 (green wires to help you see the left to rt confusion) are feeding your POS factory amp... The pre amp outputs from the RF head unit are 16-19 for speakers and 20-23 for sub ...

For the sub 20-23 are being fed from 3&4 on the 16pin connector at the RF head unit, 3 is going to 20&22 (sub +) and 4 is going to 21-23 (sub -). Somewhere in the harness the single 3&4 wires are makes 2 outputs at the amp.

I confirmed this by toning the wires pin to pin at the plugs and from amp plug to speakers. The (2) green wires at the 23 pin (6&7) are amplified and feeding the OEM sub and will not work for an aftermarket sub. I've been after this for about 8 hours now and this is as fast as I've gotten. Tomorrow I will cut 20-23 at the amp plug to feed the MUDPRC with the pre amp sub signal.

Over so so many threads o could t find anything that pulled all this together, so I thought it might help someone else out.
Great info! Thanks for posting. Please post back when you finish up and let us know how it went.
