Poor audio with 2020 ride command and Rockford Fosgate stage 4 premium audio

Hello all, new to the forum but have been following for a while. I have a 2020 General deluxe with the stage 4 audio. My amp did all the bad things you can read about on here as well. It popped, cut out, wouldn't tune etc, until it finally decided not to work at all. I like most of you researched the fix and talked with Polaris...got no where. I thought about dumping the pile of cash on the Rockford 5 channel amp and harness, but Wow! they are pricey! (Not currently available either). I was very frustrated. I thought I'd introduce a new fix...
I am a fairly capable at tinkering so I mounted a Sony receiver and kicker 250watt amp and I couldn't be happier. Note. You do have to cut into factory speaker wires to do this, but if you leave wire on both sides it can go back to stock. It was extremely easy to do. Polaris uses grey, grey black stripe, white and white black stripe for speaker wire. This is helpful for knowing positive and negative on the new receiver. Even the sub was a breeze. It plugs into the enclosure so it's clean. Power to both units is a snap, because there is aux power under the hood for radio, and amp hooks to the large lugs for the winch. Some may not like this option, but I spent around $380 for the swap and this thing sounds amazing now. 100 times better than original. Ride command still works as it should too. Note. You will need to buy an antenna that fits car audio, the RC antenna will not work. I don't use FM radio so this was not a concern for me. If you trace down your speaker wires you have won the battle. Good luck. Sorry for the lack of pics but I'm not taking the dash off again. With the tilt out window it's a little bit of work.
Don't get that radio wet....

I did end up putting a sony 55 marine grade radio and cover on it. Should be okay now. Best Buy took my other one back, so a little more $ but worth the piece of mind.
Still, don't get it wet. Marine grade is not waterproof. I went through 2 Sony and a Kenwood head unit in my Road Glide. The non-marine rated Kenwood held up after getting wet. Just had to dry out. Both Sony marine units lost functionality after getting wet. Basically the entire control pad stopped working. I could still use the handlebar controls, but the buttons on the unit wouldn't work. There's only a couple radios that are made for Harley's that have the IP65 waterproof certification.

Oh, and Sony won't warranty a marine radio iff it gets water damage... stoopid right?
