Attached are pics of the pinouts (minus the sub outputs) for the factory 23 pin plug going into the PMX-2 and the harness I built to tie into the rear speaker harness. You will need to buy the connectors and know how to unlock the connector to add the pins. Fader and balance work perfectly and sound quality and dynamics has improved significantly.

I was reading posts about adding rear speakers to the PMX-2 with the factory 23 pin connector and saw a bunch of wacky ideas so I decided to figure out where the pin outs for the rear speakers, remote and sub outputs were. I knew they existed but Polaris decided it wasn't important enough to add the wires so we could later add rear speakers or an amp.

Given: 2022 Polaris General XP1000 Deluxe, dealer installed heating kit and Stage 1 Dash Audio Kit (P/N 2884282). No ride command. Very little knowledge dealing with audio components.

Desired: Rear Speakers – I believe the Dash Audio Add-On Kit would meet this desire. However, the cost (approx. $900+) seems to be very pricey. Looking for alternatives.

Discussion: After reading multiple posts on the Polaris Forum, I gathered that adding Ampseal pins to 18-gauge wire and then inserting in pin 1 and 2 and pin 16 and 17 respectively into the 23-pin connector would allow sound to potential rear speakers without the use of an amp and the fade and balance features working.

In the Dash Audio Add-On Kit (P/N2884544), there are 2 wire harnesses (rear speaker P/N 2414910 and rear speaker cross-over P/N 2415216) that could be used to facilitate the install process. Also, a male 4 pin Deutsch type pin would need to be added for connecting the wiring (4 wires) coming from the 23-pin connect as stated above and would plug into the rear speaker harness (P/N 2414910).

Question(s):
(1) Are my assumptions correct in the paragraph of Discussions?
(2) What lower cost speaker would work such a JBL, Pyle, Boss, etc.?
(3) Any suggestion on brackets for speakers in Item #2?
(4) Recommendation?

No, I can't.
You will have to describe what you have for a stereo system and what brand and model of speakers. The more detail you can provide, the better chance of someone being able to help you.
Also list what year and model of General you have.

Thanks for the info. Got the rear speakers wired up tonight. I have the PMX2 unit and don’t see the option in menu settings for fade / balance? Still sounds a lot better so I’m good. The Ampseal pins I order were
TE Connectivity Part Number 770520-3

Just to double check, am I able to wire a Memphis GEN10SE sub amp combo to a RF PMX-X2 head unit, into the wire harness? Not looking to add rear speakers or get too crazy if I can help it.

If not, is the only route to go the loc method??

Will need to tap speaker wires to high level inputs for sub amp. I think someone tried this it it wasn’t an easy job

I would think so. If you scroll through previous pages of this post there are pics of the pin outs on the actual radio for sub outputs. You would just need to order the ampseal pins and install them in your factory connector and wire it up.

F’ing money! Thank you! So then would I just order the loc, and wire that into the harness as well??
