I was reading posts about adding rear speakers to the PMX-2 with the factory 23 pin connector and saw a bunch of wacky ideas so I decided to figure out where the pin outs for the rear speakers, remote and sub outputs were. I knew they existed but Polaris decided it wasn't important enough to add the wires so we could later add rear speakers or an amp.
Attached are pics of the pinouts (minus the sub outputs) for the factory 23 pin plug going into the PMX-2 and the harness I built to tie into the rear speaker harness. You will need to buy the connectors and know how to unlock the connector to add the pins. Fader and balance work perfectly and sound quality and dynamics has improved significantly.

Humm, I have a PMX3 at home I was going to mount up so I can put in a rear sound bar / speakers, my rear sound bar is self powered and requires an output signal. Not sure I can use the rear speakers for it, but if I can that would save me $400 bucks. I need to do a little research now, I'll send that PMX 3 back and spend $400 on beer and treats for my riding partners!

Guess what? Looks like they used Harley parts; Check this out, Metra 71-9600 on the head unit side and still looking but, metra LD-9600 for the UTV side, not every wire like the 71-9600, but they fit, only thing that has to be modified is the alignment rib trimmed off. As soon as the 714-9600 shows up I'll confirm, but it sure looks like it. Best buy has it for $10 bucks.

Did that Metra harness work?
The metra harness post was another guy. I never heard if it worked or not. Really, all you have to do is get the Ampseal pins and solder or crimp the wires to them and insert the into the factory connector into the PMX-2 on pin #'s 1 & 2 for left rear and pin #'s 16 & 17 for right rear.

I’ll jump on this post. I have a 2020 G2 XP Deluxe with OEM RC, 7 button. I do not have the harness with the 3 plugs that some of the add an amp harnesses have. Do I still use the 32 pin out diagram??

So this means we can buy some rear speakers and wire them to this output?
Equal wattage to the front ?
Has anyone fabricated a rear sound bar on the rear headliner. 1000 is pretty steep for two polaris rockford speakers
