New General (Possibly)

Although I do not have confirmation on this at this time.
It appears that Polaris has created a separate model category for the General.
I’m trying to decipher the code at this time.
Any way, we have a new model coming, with its own catagory called Gen,
with model G22G.
It’s not listed as for the military.
It has:
Ride Command
Doors
Mirrors
Bed Rack
Roof
Center Console.

The Unit definitely has a lot of nice features.

Looking for a set of Stock Takeoffs.😀

Nice Transaxle Upgrades with better Gearing.
Sharing some driveline components with the 24' RZR 1000 XP.

Getting better with their spring rate choices for the shocks.

They utilized the rear unitized bearing set on the Rear, with the regular bearing set on the Front.

So looking at the site, one thing jumps out. It is not listed as a 2024 like the all-new RZR XP.

If this were truly a General replacement, don't you think it would be listed as a 2024. Also, there is no "Base" model. They seem to sell a lot of non-XP Generals. Are they willing to forgo that segment of the market?
The only 60" General offered for 2023 is the sport.

Where? Not seeing like with the new RZR XP where 2024 is displayed prominently. It would make sense for these to be 2024's, just wondering why there is no big 2024 badge.

We will see how the side intake fare with this unit. Side intakes were an unmitigated disaster for the ranger 900

I saw a Polaris rep say it would handle 32" tires without mods but no mention of gearing. How is gearing different than General XP?

It appears 32’’s will fit with no problem.

The Gearing is lower.
The Transaxles in the ( some variables here) Rangers/Xpeditions and RZR’s are better by design, although they share a lot of components.
Polaris should have incorporated the Ranger Transaxle or better yet the RZR Turbo into the 2019 General +, but they chose to stick with the archaic design to now.
Same transaxle as updated rzr xp 1k? The new rzr has lower low gear but unsure of high

Very similar to the RZR except for Gearing and the differential.

please elaborate “ the new RZR has lower low gear” .
What are you comparing this to?

2024 rzr xp 1k has a lower low and lpwer high gear than 2023 and prior rzr xp 1k. It's in all the press releases

That is correct.

And is still supposed to reach 75mph.
Hopefully the new unit turns 32s better from an inclined stop or crawl. Current general clutching/gearing is suboptimal.

Understatement of the century(thus far).

To be fair though, the stock configuration is for 30" tires... it's not designed for 32"....

This is like complaining about a truck gearing issue when you go 2 sizes larger compared to stock.... you modified it to that, you have to expect the consequences of that action...

Cause and Affect.
Most forget about the affect part.
