I've got a hunter edition as well. My first ride was spent checking out the Elk hunting unit I drew out for in the Rocky Mountains (elevation 6000 to 9500 ft). I went 62 miles that day, and burned two bars worth of fuel on the fuel gauge. If the gauge is accurate I had 3/4 of a tank left. I doubt the gauge is accurate, but probably still had half a tank of fuel left.
I put 200 miles on mine in the black hills over a 3 day period, fueled each night and averaged right at 15 for the 200 miles, was a mix of good smooth trails and some pretty rough climbing. Overall very happy with the mileage.
This weekend I pulled a dumb a#% I lowered my gas mileage I left the station with a very full tank and hit the trails at full tilt but no gas cap. The wife had a Kleenex package and we used the elastic strap off the dust mask to tye on the plastic Kleenex wrapper. I married a snotty nose Mcguyver
