I've only carried extra gas in the old 5 gallon Jeep Gas Cans that I mounted on the back of my Jeeps before.
What should I use to carry extra gas in a cargo trailer ?

A jerry can or safety can I would think would be good!

Maybe check with your local/state police ask what are not allowed if your wondering!

My trailer has vents. One top front and one opposite side lower rear. It gets good air flow.

I just put the cans in it and secure them from tipping over.

Oh yeah, I don't fill them all the way.

I've become addicted to these ones.

Spendy but fuel last MUCH longer in a metal can. Also they don't expand and contract and start tipping over, leaking etc.

Did you do this because of the Gas Fumes inside the trailer ?

Yeh that and also easy to get to while away camping, easy to fill up at the service station, lockable box so no one can tamper with or take some for themselves. Also I have a lot of weight down the back of the trailer so this was also good to level out the weight
