2021 Deluxe Winch Wireless Remote Install

I am trying to install a Polaris wireless winch remote (Part # 2881287) into a 2021 Deluxe with factory installed 4500 winch. The Polaris site claims this remote to be compatible with this model. The remote was provided with 2 way inline "T". My problem is that after careful search of the winch wiring from dash rocker switch all the way to the winch, without unwrapping the bundled wiring and I find no bulges in the wraps to indicate a connector may be within. I find no 2 way connectors to install the remote breakout "T" into.

I have found a 4 way connector very near the winch and the wire colors match those at the switch. But it is obvious that this connector is not compatible with this remote kit.

Is there a different kit available that I am not aware of? Am I missing something in the wiring?

Have you seen this 2 minute youtube video? Wireless Winch Connection This is the way mine connected and it's eezy peezy.
I have seen this, and that is the remote kit I purchased. However, either my factory installed winch has a different connector, or maybe the connector is concealed within the very tightly factory wire bundle wrap.

The connector I find is a 4 wire, not a 2 wire as the kit has.
Something doesn't sound right, When I installed mine about a year ago, it was so straight forward that I don't remember anything not just falling into place. Seems like 2 connections would not be enough and more than likely you would need 4, so maybe the kit is wrong. The remote control unit is going to need 2 wires to power it (pos & ground) and then 1 or 2 to power up the winch.
After retracing the situation, I noticed that part number on the box did not match what I requested. Simply a human error. But they had the correct part in stock and made it right.

Do you a part number for the correct remote? Thinking that I might do that also.
The Part # 2881287 is the correct part for 2021 models. The part guy just picked he wrong part or perhaps the first remote was in the wrong part bin.
Thanks.

Can you take a picture of the install? I am purchasing the 2881287 part. The instructions show it mounting to the winch. Is that where yours is mounted? I watched a video and the part they used was a 2879316 and it mounted where air intake is under the hood.

I didn't see a way to mount the receiver as the instructions indicated, without drilling another hole in the winch solenoid mount. Being that it is winter here and I wanted to use the machine right away, I zip tied the receiver to the frame rail temporarily.
They zipped tied ours on our 2017 and our 2021 and neither one has moved at all.

What is the part number for the 2020 General, I'm see a few different one's here.
My local dealer says the number 2881287 is discontinued and replaced by 2879316.
I have a 2019 G2. It has the kit that mounts to the winch, #2881287. I wondered why the controller wasn't mounted under the hood #2879316, so not to be exposed to water damage. It was a straight forward installation, but mounted it as high above the winch as possible, hope it doesn't fail because of water fouling. I have a feeling Polaris discovered the possibility of water ruining my remote and raised it to mount under the hood. I need to take a look at it and maybe relocate it to the compartment under the hood as shown in the #2879316 instructions.
Has anyone else tried this?
So it looks like 1of4885 has answered my question. As usual, Polaris waits for us to do their R&D work. May be time to get the wire, soldering iron and heat shrink out and do it right. I did mount it as high as possible, but will always be subjected to water.
My dealer say's that part number 2879316 is for the Polaris Ranger and part# 2881287 is for the Polaris General 1000. So who is correct?
A dealer just told me all I need is 2881287 for the deluxe model and the rest is already in place ???
I'm assume if he's correct there is some programming that must be done or is this a kit that needs installed?
If you Google both numbers you get a plethora of ads with information to cull through. About the only clear thing you find is that they both are compatible with a wide range of models from Sportsmans to Rangers, Razors and Generals. Some ads for the 2881287 route you to the ads for the 2879316. Ads for the 2879316 seem to have more vendors with stock on hand. And, the 2879316 is pictured with the "Y" shaped harness in most ads whereas the 2881287 isn't. Clarity is not necessarily present in the ads. I put the 2879316 on my '21 General and it was plug and play. No programming was necessary. Good luck. - Mark
Yah, it's a bit confusing, I think I'll just hit my dealer up for the part and brow beat them into a discount on it; if it's wrong or doesn't work as they say; I'll bring it back and try again. ;)
Still working on getting the hounds to fetch me a beer, not sure they can handle pushing the winch button correctly just yet! That may be the next lesson.
I would look at your winch and under the hood area to see which kit you would need. I am attaching both instructions, this should clear up which one works on your General. Again my General is a 2019 G2, Ride Command with the #2881287 Remote Kit. And if possible mount it under the hood, above the high water line, I zip-tied mine above the winch as high as possible.
